My Thoughts:

Ok I was so excited to read this book, because of all the buzz from others blogs and all the awards that the author Holly have received from this Geek series. So I was reading another I have to admit that left that book behind because I was so happy to finally have a copy of Geek Girl and started reading it first thing when I go it, I wasn’t that happy about Harriet I mean seriously she was a Geek but come on she didn’t have to be so dumb so I was kind of piss off at Harriet for do so silly things but then through the chapters I kind of understand her, she have this crazy bitch buller at school that make her days at school terrible.

And I guess she was just scare and when this opportunity show up she saw the light in the dark of her path. She wanted to be pretty, (even thou she already was but she really have self-esteem), she wanted to feel strong, to be different at least for once and at that point I guess when you are reading this book you see yourself on her character or someone you are close to. Because when you are 15th years old you are trying to discover yourself and be label at school as a Geek or as nerd or whatever even when you said it doesn’t matter it really matter when you are not happy about who you are.

But through her journey she figured out that she likes to be a Geek and that it really doesn’t matter what people think about you if you enjoy who you are. Harriet teach us that it doesn’t matter how big a lie or small a lie seems it will always hurt the ones we love and that sometimes things aren’t that bad as we picture them, all we have to do in a difficult moment is to look out for the positive things and how to fix it instead of leave it. Be fighter not a coward.

Another things that I LOVE about this book is all the facts that Harriet knows she is so smart, and through the chapters the Author name a lot of others book like: Hamlet, Pride and Prejudice, Alice in wonderland, and more. So if you haven’t read those book you should.

Mis Pensamientos:

Ok yo estaba tan emocionada por leer este libro, porque he escuchado excelentes comentarios de otros blogs y todos los premios que la autora Holly Smale han recibido de esta serie Geek. Les confieso que yo estaba leyendo otro libroy lo deje a un lado, ya que estaba alegre de finalmente tener una copia de la Geek Mas famosa de los libros y empecé a leerlo al instante.

No estaba tan feliz por el personaje de Harriet, decir en serio yo se que es una Geek pero vamos no tiene que ser tan torpe al mismo tiempo, así que estaba un poco enojada de que Harriet hiciera cosas tan tontas una despues de la otra, pero luego a través de los capítulos puede llegar a comprenderla, ya que tiene su propia buleadora personal en la escuela que hacen sus días terribles y ademas de esto sus padres no estan orgullosos de ella.

Y supongo que sólo estaba asusta y cuando esta oportunidad aparece ante ella por fin vio la luz en la oscuridad de su camino. Ella quería ser bonita, (aunque ya lo era nada mas que no se miraba de esa manera), quería sentirse fuerte, ser diferente al menos por una vez, y en ese momento es que cuando estás leyendo te ves en el personaje o algunos de tus amigos. Porque cuando estás en la etapa de los 15 años, en la cual estas tratando de descubrirte a ti mismo y ser etiqueta en la escuela como un friki/Geek o como nerd o lo que sea no es facil, aunque tratemos y hagamos ver que no nos importa, nos marca de una o cierta manera.

Pero a través de su viaje descubrió que a ella le gusta ser un Geek y que realmente no importa lo que la gente piensa de si misma sino el gustarte a ti misma. Harriet nos enseña que no importa cuán grande o pequeña una mentira es la mentira siempre tiene patas cortas y de una u otra manera le hará daño a los que amamos. Y no siempre las cosas no son tan malas como los imaginamos, lo único que tenemos que hacer en un momento difícil es mirar las partes positivas y cómo arreglarlo en vez de dejarlo. No seas un cobarde y aprende a ser un luchador.

Otras cosas que me gusta de este libro es que Harriet menciona diferentes obras literarias, peliculas y sabe que ella muy inteligente, a través de los capítulos Holly Smale nombra varios libros como: Hamlet, Orgullo y Prejuicio, Alicia en el país de las maravillas, y más. Así que si usted no ha leído los libros deberian de hacerlo.
