Synopsis

When do you admit a holiday fling is so much more? Kayla's always been scared to push her boundaries and take a risk. But it turns out all she needed was a scumbag ex-boyfriend to send her running to Hawaii, hoping to pull the shattered pieces of her heart back together while sunning herself on a white sand beach. What she hadn't planned on was falling for someone new. Especially someone tall, tanned, and distractedly sexy. Soon sparks and puns are flying, and Kayla is introduced to a whole new way of appreciating Hawaii’s beautiful scenery. But what starts out as a fun holiday romance turns into a full-blown love affair, with neither wanting to admit the clock is ticking until Kayla has to return home.
My Review:
A new author to me, new characters, new places to add to my bucket list and to obsess about it. Everything about this story ‘got to me’, and made me fall in love of it.
After a bad relationship with an emotionally abusive boyfriend and the absent of new things, and conditioned to believe she needs to settle and be content to a boring life, Kayla has had a lifetime of feeling something was lacking in every aspect of her life even in her personality. But when she decides to take a trip, she does not hesitate to find herself in this trip and leaving behind all the bad vibes that have taken the flavor of life and new possibilities.
But nothing prepares Kayla for Jay, a tall, tanned and sexy as hell tourist guide. By nature Jay is gentleman with the best manners ever and he has spent the past years trying to prove to himself and to others that his family’s money does not define him (Kayla doesn’t know that). Until Kayla suddenly comes and changes his life forever.
While they agree to enjoy Kayla’s vacations together and don’t get too attached to each other, just ‘fun’ - it remains as clear as day that they can’t keep their hands to themselves. But jay’s feelings start being overwhelming and he tells Kayla, while sh e’s trying to keep her feelings locking to not break at the end of the trip.
Even tho, Jay put his heart on his sleeve for her and acted like a mad-man he stills wants to enjoy everything and what time they have left. As their adventures keep going, Kayla can’t stop thinking on not having him in her future and so she tells him.
Now with both declarations of love they decide to do things together to start a life together. That’s how Kayla decides to give it a try to all the things she wanted in life and make a change of a lifetime. The only problem is she’s afraid of how her family and friends are gonna take this sudden change.
Jay decides to come clean about his family and their business and Kayla again struggles to trust a men again but she realize he did it because he never thought of getting in love with her. Now they face the disapproval of Kayla’s loves one, but loves fixed it all.
The Hawaiian heartbreak trilogy is perfect balance of steamy romance and engaging characters, I never stopped feeling while reading this book. The author excelled in giving the characters and Hawaii life. Their every flaw serves to make them even more ‘real’ and compelling in our eyes.
