Exclusive Interview with R.S. Grey, author of Out of Bounds

I love love love sexy and humorous romances and The Summer Games Series by R.S. Grey is the perfect combination from the beginning to the very end. Every pages bleeds with emotions and lot of good time. I can’t wait until you guys read OUT OF BOUNDS the second book in The Summer Games Series that’s out NOW and while you get your copy, I have an interview with R.S. Grey to share with you, where you can get a taste of what awaits…

Synopsis

I despise Erik Winter. He’s arrogant and cruel—a man I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy—and by some twisted turn of fate, he’s my new Olympic gymnastics coach. I’ve had to contend with gruff coaches in the past, but Erik is far worse. His stern demeanor complements a body built for intimidation, and his reprimands come from a mouth so cunning, I know it could strip me of my defenses—if I let it. Though each of us would love to be rid of the other forever, we are bound to each other by need and necessity. I’m his rising star, his best shot at proving himself to his critics. And without a coach, I have zero chance of winning gold in Rio. The easiest way forward would be to wave a white flag and make peace with the man I’ll be sharing close quarters with for the foreseeable future, but he is intent on war. Fine. By. Me. If he pushes me, I’ll push back harder. If he wants to test me, to play with my head, I’ll show him just how many boundaries I’m willing to cross. Because I know it’s not a choice between winning or warring—not if you can have them both. At the end of it all, I plan on leaving Rio with gold around my neck and his icy heart in the palm of my hand.

Tell us about Out of Bounds

The Summer Games: Out of Bounds was a risk for me. On the surface, it’s a story about a gymnast and her coach, but there is a depth to these characters that will stick with you long after you finish reading it. It’s sexy (extremely sexy) and provocative. There are scenes that will shock my readers and as an author, it was fun to push the limits of my writing.

What inspired their story?

There was no lightbulb moment with this story. I knew I wanted to base a sports romance around the summer Olympics and from there, the story was born. I was a competitive gymnast for eight years, so I know how difficult the sport can be. It was fun to revisit that time in my life and write about it through the eyes of Brie Watson. Obviously, I was a lot younger than her and never dated my coach, but the rest of it was drawn from my own life.

I love how strong you portrait your female characters and how they want me to go out and chase my dreams. Can you talk about Brie and why is she so incredible? Did the story drive the way she is or were you trying to achieve something in particular?

First of all, thank you! I love writing about strong characters, both male and female. I had to make Brie so fierce because I was pairing her with a male lead who is as rude as they come. I needed her to be strong enough to stand up to him and to actually challenge him, and though she is so much younger than him, in the end I think Erik finds his match in Brie.

Out of Bounds is the Second in a series of standalones. What can you tell us about what you have planned for the next novels in the series?

I am slowly starting to work on a story about Georgie Archibald. She was a side character in The Summer Games: Settling the Score and while her book won’t be a sports romance, fans of that book won’t be disappointed!

This is your 13th published novel, is it still as nerve-racking as in the beginning or have you found some peace in the craziness? Any traditions on release day?

I’ve definitely become more comfortable with release days. I used to not sleep the night before and stress myself out for weeks until the books were actually on Kindles. Now, I try to relax and enjoy the process. I don’t have any specific traditions, but I do like to take an hour or two on release day to turn off my phone and computer and step away from the madness. There are always a thousand things to do, but it’s important to appreciate the moment before it passes me by!

As a reader, any recent book faves?

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been able to pick up a book and get lost in a fictional world. I keep picking up different books and putting them down for no reason in particular. I will say, I LOVED Corrupt by Penelope Douglas. That was the last book I read that I couldn’t put down.
