Review: Passionate Pursuit (Dangerous Desires #3) by Tina Donahue + Giveaway

My Thoughts:

A story with an utterly irresistible appeal, and when coupled with its pragmatic yet deeply romantic view on love, lust and life, it is impossible not to become hooked on every single word.

Synopsis:

Andalucía Spain, 1489: Innocent Beatriz is desperate to escape the threat of a miserable marriage to a cruel Marquis. Forced into the betrothal by her ruthless merchant papá, her only hope is to conceal her identity and become a servant in a nearby castle—a life drastically different from her comfortable upbringing. Tomás doesn’t know what to make of his well-spoken new servant girl. Her beauty and charm captivates the military hero; her mysterious nature intrigues him. And the desire she ignites burns brighter with each glance, as does his longing to claim her for his own. Beatriz can’t resist Tomás’ passion nor deny the heat of her own. But neither the lush countryside nor the walls of the opulent Moorish castle can entirely protect her—and if he were to discover her secret, she could be torn away from him forever. Yet how can she sustain his love if she’s living a lie?

My Review:

We meet Lady Beatriz in 1489 Andalucía Spain —a time when women lacked choice and instead were encouraged to focus on landing a distinguished, titled man to marry. But even thou when Beatriz was a lady something made her run out of her privileged life to become a maid for don Tomas. She was a beautiful woman and she seems too delicate to be a maid but she has a lot of secrets. She longed to experience a real passionate love but she set her eyes to high and fall in love with Tomas. But Nuncio wanted her away from his Patron – however Tomas liked Beatriz so much and every time they were close he could feel the energy pull between them.

Tomas was the Patron of the house and it was time for him to settled down and get a wife and children, Nuncio his assistant was trying hard to get him the perfect woman with the right title and money but Tomas wanted real love no just a good trade. Even tho nuncio told him, he could have mistresses he refuse to that idea.

Before too long, they get caught in this passionate lust for each other and end up being lovers, despite every rejection of Beatriz – Tomas didn’t give up until she was his. Not to long the lies start to unfold and Beatriz past is coming after her treating her biggest love Tomas.

As the story unfurls, we realize there is so much more to everyone than meets the eye. There’s a man calling Beatriz his and telling he bought her and is ready to destroy their love and get his prize.

I loved Tomas because he wanted her and he didn’t accepted a no for an answer, tho Beatriz was a bit too naïve for me and she wanting to press her face to his pubic curls was something I still don’t understand. They did had this strong connection and love for each other.

Overall, this is a unique insight into so many characters simultaneously that gives the story an utterly irresistible appeal, and when coupled with its pragmatic yet deeply romantic view on love, lust and life, it is impossible not to become hooked on every single word.
