Synopsis:

Anthony Carter has not had it easy in life. In a matter of months, he lost his mother to cancer along with his much coveted spot in a prestigious doctoral program. Swimming in debt, he's been forced to move back to his hometown in rural Montana and take whatever job he can find. A drunken weekend in Vegas is exactly what he needs to help him forget his problems. A recent break-up with her boyfriend of nearly a decade has left straight-laced Liz Rockwell disillusioned with love and in desperate need of a vacation. She gets more than she bargained for when one drunken night at a Vegas bar results in her being married to Anthony. Embarrassed by her lapse in judgment, Liz is ready to make this whole night just go away. A quickie divorce seems like the best solution to their problem, until Anthony realizes who Liz really is. Known in the media as the Candy Heiress, billionaire Liz is the answer to Anthony’s prayers. All he has to do is convince her to write him a check. Unfortunately, Liz is not one to be easily intimidated or coerced. Discovering the Rockwell family secret may be Anthony’s only hope. But the more time he spends with the intelligent and tenacious Liz, the more he realizes their chapel wedding may not have been such a drunken mistake after all...
My Review:

It always amazes me when a debut novel is such a good read and more when the Author contact me personally to share her art with me. When I read the blurb of this book I was definitely hooked and it was such a great surprise to read a different kind of hero. Frequently we have the girls chasing the guys with money to blackmail them but here Natalie gives it a twist.
And Anthony is the one chasing Liz money to pay all his debts, even thou he wasn’t one of those male characters that put me head over heels- it was nice to have something different.
Liz is a billionaire candy heiress that doesn’t want to depend on her family’s money to succeed. She is one of the best attorneys of the Miami. Her father marries so often that it make her believe love really doesn’t exist and trying not to be like him she doesn’t want to get married ever. But then a drunken night in the Vegas happens and you ‘what happens in the Las Vegas’ Never stays there.
Anthony might be a sexy geek but for the past months, he has been a man with no direction in life, a man lost in a world full of debts. Desperate for a change or at least just one night he escapes with his friends to Las Vegas but seeking solitude and privacy, he goes to a bar alone never expecting to find himself fall-down drunk and married to a sexy woman, who turns to be his lifesaver if he can make her change her mind.
What starts as a flirting night, a morning of ‘I don’t remember going to the chapel’ - ‘Don’t worry I’m going to take care of an annulment’ and ‘give 200k dollars and I’ll sign the documents’ slowly morphs into something different that catches both of them by surprise. They fall into a comfortable pattern of spending days on end in each others company, enjoying the simple things, laughing and getting to know one another better, they discover parts of themselves they’d ignored for too long. And parts of one another they never expected to find.
And even thou they had develop feelings for each others Anthony was still plotting against Liz and that was low even for him and I Still think he didn’t redeem himself that well. But probably I’m just too picky with male characters.
Overall, I think for a debut novel this was a great way to start and I recommend it, if you like the movie with Cameron Diaz and Ashton this book is going to remind you a bit of it and it won’t be the typical ‘we got married and be fall in love the second I woke up next to you’ and am already anticipating the next story in the series with bated breath.
